Diego Velasquez was a star of the collegiate golf scene in 2010, the final year of a glittering amateur career.
It was a year in which he was named First Team All American and was ranked #2 in the country and ranked in the top 20 in the World. He played four (4) years at Oregon State and was a standout. He had three (3) wins during his collegiate career and his final performance for the Beavers was a fourth place finish at the NCAA National Championship where he shot a final round course record 66.
Diego is hugely proud of his Colombian heritage and has dedicated his career to brining positive attention to his homeland. He looks to follow in the footsteps of fellow Colombian and good friend Camilo Villegas.
Diego has shown he has all the tools necessary to succeed. He competed in the Colombian Open as an amateur in 2010 and finished 4th, this earned him the respect of his peers and proved he was the ‘real deal’. Look for Diego to make an immediate impact in professional golf!
